Emergency Thermocouple for use with purple wire can also be used to identify a bad TSU or bad purple wire section.

This emergency thermocouple is meant to be used if your temperature sensor unit goes bad or to identify a bad purple wire section.

If your TSU goes bad on site but you want to continue spraying without switching to Amp-mode, you can use this emergency thermocouple.
Carefully cut into the insulation without cutting into the hose or heating wires and firmly attach the sensor head of the emergency thermocouple on the outside of the shrink tube on the hose using electrical tape. Disconnect the bad TSU and connect the emergency thermocouple with the purple wire.
Please add 5°C (10°F) to the indicated temperature.

Please note that this temperature reading is not accurate and the emergency thermocouple should only be used for the short time until you can replace the Fluid Temperature Sensor.

The emergency thermocouple can also be used to identify a bad section of purple wire.
If you get an "E04" or "S.ERR" you should check FTS-connections of each hose section. Starting at the TSU, disconnect the two FTS cables and connect the emergency thermocouple to the male FTS connector. If it indicates temperature reading, the error is in a section towards the gun (or in the TSU). If the error remains, it is in one of the sections towards the machine. Go to the next section and repeat.
